We are pleased to announce the development of a new position at the Tippy Arc for 2017. The Social Program/Special Event Assistant will be responsible for assisting the  Executive Director, Board of Directors and Volunteers with coordinating, scheduling, data reporting and other duties within The Arc of Tippecanoe County Social Programs which include Adult Recreation, Aktion Club, Best Buddies, Super Star Social Club and SPARKS on the Go as well as Special Events including Arc in the Park, The Blue Jean Ball and other fundraising activities. This position is part-time-20 hours per month-and is an hourly position.

The Adult Direct Services Program is pleased to announce a new monthly walking program for Adult Recreation Members. The group will meet starting April 10th (the second Monday of each month) at the Tippecanoe County Mall Entrance E at 5:30 pm. The group will walk for an hour once a month at the same time on the second Monday of the month. Once the weather is better, we will walk outside. We are pleased to announce we will be hosting our second annual Prom “An Evening Under the Sea” for our Adult Recreation Members and Super Star Social Club will be participating in the YWCA’s “One Enchanted Evening Prom” this year. We are hosting a “Gown Town” event for both groups and need donations of formal gowns, men’s suits, dress shirts, ties and accessories. You can contact the Arc office at director@arcoftippecanoe.org to make a donation. Last year every single person who needed clothes was able to find something they loved in their exact size. Let’s pull together and make that happen again this year.

I am pleased to announce that our friends at  NSSLHA- Purdue’s  Student Speech, Language and Hearing Association is hosting our annual Valentine’s Dance at Bauer Community Center on Saturday, February 4th from 6 to 8 pm. The event will feature dancing with a live DJ, a photo booth, crafts, snacks and great friends. This event is open to SSSC and Adult Recreation members. The cost of admission is $5.
