From The Arc of Indiana Newsletter:

On January 17, 2024, the state of Indiana submitted new waiver amendments for the proposed Pathways for Aging, Health and Wellness (H&W), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Community Integration and Habilitation (CIH), and Family Supports Waivers (FSW). One of the biggest changes proposed in the new amendments impacts Legally Responsible Individuals (LRIs) who are paid personal care attendants through the Aged & Disabled Waiver – soon to be the H&W Waiver. Under the proposal, they would be required to move to different program, Structured Family Care, at a lower rate of reimbursement, or have a paid care giver who is not a LRI. This is a significant change that will be detrimental to families and children and increase the risk of institutionalization.

Tippy Arc News for November and December 2022

Our Mission…   The Arc promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.

Executive Director Update

Hi All!

Can you believe it is November already? It seems like fall has just flown by this year.

We had a very busy October with lots of events. We enjoyed Exploration Acres and hot dogs on the open fire along with a big Halloween Bash at Club 53. Thanks to all the Volunteers who made these events possible. Check out the great pictures from the events on Facebook and Instagram.

We have two more events for 2022. We have our November Club 53 Harvest Dance with the gentleman from Pi Kappa Phi on November 12th and a Club 53 Christmas Party on December 10th. We are going to try something new this year and combine the big dinner of the Holiday Dinner with a Club 53 event. We will have food, music, crafts and a visit from Santa with gifts for everyone along with some treats for our caregivers. I am looking for a few elves to help me with this event- Crafters, Cooks, Wrappers etc. Email me if you would like to volunteer. We will need lots of hands for an event like this.

We will also be sharing events from other organizations and companies as well. If you would like us to share your events- that are open to all Adults with I/DD and or families in Tippecanoe County, just send me an email at

The Tippy Arc Caregiver Support Group is meeting in person at the end of the month. I am looking at the 29th or 30th. Please let me know if you would like to participate so I can plan for everyone. I have had several family caregivers who have asked to meet other parents to expand their community.

We will be doing 10 Days of The Arc of Tippecanoe County Fundraising Event starting December 1st and ending at Club 53 on December 10th. This is one of our biggest fundraising events of the year. Each day we highlight on Facebook, Instagram and our website different events/programs from the Tippy Arc showing what we accomplish when we work together to support our Mission. Please consider making a donation or share the posts with friends and family telling them how you or someone you love is impacted by our organization.

As always, thank you for letting me work with you all. Let me know how I can help.
