Executive Director Update
Hi All!
Welcome back to the monthly Tippy Arc Newsletter! The Board decided to bring this back to help communicate better with our Members. Please let me know how you like this format. I am open to suggestions.
We have a busy October filled with lots of Tippy Arc Event’s and are sharing other events that might be interesting to our Members. You will have lots of opportunities to put on your Halloween Costume this month 😊 We have our Annual Halloween Bash at Club 53, Exploration Acres with a fire pit, Sensory Skating Night and a Movie Night at Loeb Stadium to support United Way. If you would like us to share your events- that are open to all Adults with I/DD and or families in Tippecanoe County, just send me an email at director@arcoftippecanoe.org.
I have received lots of questions about Club 53 recently. Club 53 is an ongoing fundraiser for our organization. It is a nightclub for people over 18 with developmental disabilities from all over the area. The admission cost is $20 and includes unlimited drinks- nonalcoholic frozen/mixed drinks and snacks- along with dancing and other activities. Caregivers/staff and Family members are admitted free and can chat with other caregivers in the lounge. The Fall Season is September, October, November and December. The Spring Season is February, March, April and May. The hours are 5:30 to 8 pm and it is held at Bauer Community Center. We are always looking for guest Bartenders and Sponsors for the event. RSVP is not necessary but helpful
Like all local nonprofits, we are struggling to find Volunteers to help with our events. We have added two new sections to our newsletter with Volunteer Opportunities for our events and Volunteer Opportunities for our Members in the Community. Please check this out and consider helping us out at an event or joining us for a group Volunteer Opportunity.
I am working on our Annual Holiday Dinner and Dance. Most of you know this is my very favorite event, I am so ready to see it back after these long Covid years. We received a very generous donation from the United Way Annual Golf Outing Sponsored by the United Steelworkers Union Local 115 to support this event. Please email me if you would like to help with this event. It takes lots of hands to make this happen.

Cost is $11 adults $9 kids at gate and $3 for Lunch at fire pit.
October 21st United Way Movie Night Hocus Pocus
Cost is $5 Adults and $3 kids. Gates open at 7:00 pm
October 26th 6 to 8 pm Great Skates Sensory Skating!!
Cost is $5 per person plus $4 skate rental.
October 29th 5:30 to 8 pm Club 53’s Halloween Bash!!
Cost is $20 and includes drinks/snacks plus activity. Caregivers get in free.

November 19th– Tentative for Holiday Dinner Dance

* I am working on adding a Art Activity to our schedule as well. We will be selling popcorn at the Movie night to support United Way. Let me know if you would like to help. I need about ten volunteers for this project.
*RSVP reminder- all events with the exception of Club 53 require an RSVP with names of those participating in the event to rsvp@arcoftippecanoe.org This ensures we have enough food, drinks or supplies for everyone. RSVP to Club 53 is not necessary but is really helpful.

The Tippy Arc Needs You!
There are many opportunities to volunteer with The Arc of Tippecanoe County! Many of the activities can be done in your own home in your free time. Below are just a few of the areas in which we need volunteers:
- Serve at an event or Club 53.
- Teach Dances at Club 53
- Share you Art/Music Skills with us- Teach a class
- Be a guest Bartender for Club 53- no alcohol served and no experience needed 😊
- Manager for Club 53- oversee set up and volunteers for monthly Club 53
- Caregiver Support Team Members- help other caregivers/plan support events
- Outreach Volunteers to share events with other groups.
- Technology Support
